What you'll study

• Drawing standards, scales, geometry and projection
• Freehand sketching and reading technical information
• Construction elements and architectural drawing conventions
• Plans, sections, elevations and assembly details
• CAD documentation, dimensions and revision control
• Coordinating a drawing package and responding to a design brief

Proposed study themes — confirmed against the issuing body's module list where one applies.

The emphasis is drawing principles and construction communication; the AutoCAD diploma concentrates more deeply on that software workflow.

Entry requirements

• Age 17 or above; GCE O/L or equivalent secondary education, or relevant practical experience.
• Basic mathematics, spatial reasoning and computer literacy.
• No advanced CAD experience required; applicants complete a short drawing-readiness activity.

How classes run

Blended or live online drawing studios using annotated demonstrations and regular portfolio reviews. Include a supervised measurement exercise where a suitable location is available.

Assessment

Submit a technical drawing portfolio showing sketches, projections, construction details and a coordinated CAD drawing set.
